Talk about love handles - the fat that builds around the waste track and bulges away under the skin. You can't really spot reduce fat so starter advice is get rid of those love handles before they get a chance to pull away the skin. It is a lifelong battle so watch out for any tell tale tell tale signs.
In women it typically appears as "pear" or "apple" shape, whereas in men it is a "beer" or "beer belly" in men.
These love handles are generally a concern for men and women of all ages. They may appear less forgiveable in men than women but you must remember that love handles also hide behind a bacon cheeseburger, Big Mac, peanut butter sandwich, fries and pizza.
Love handles are fat that is very difficult and stubborn to get rid of. The love handles can be fat or a thin layer of fat stuck to the abdominal muscles.
You may have thestyle of a muffin, which folds over the muffin base, creating a hollow. This is a very dangerous condition to have because it can lead to future obesity.
The real problem is not necessarily the love handles but the fact that there is just too much fat residing around your belly. If you are not careful, the above condition can lead to heart diseases, stroke, insulin resistance, high blood pressure, sleep apnea and many other disorders.
The fat around your waistline is partly caused by a heredity (problems passing foods stool and other factors). However, most of the fat in the abdominal area is due to the fact that it's just the way our bodies are designed.
Imagine a potato chip with the skin intact; it's still just a chip in a bag. A baked potato is still just a potato and the potatoes you cook with will adding the fat and calories in whatever you eat, which are usually protein, carbs, and fat. So dieting is hard because love handles aren't on your body like muscles are, but you can reduce the size of the love handles.
If you are experiencing your love handles, then you need to change your diet. Foods high in carbs, high in calories, and low in nutritional value will probably be causing your love handles.
To lose those love handles, you need to reduce the amount of calories you eat. Eat every two to three hours. When you don't eat for long periods of time and eat too much a time after spa work or a night on the town, your body goes into starvation mode and stores the food around your waistline because it thinks it may not get fed again for a while.
When your body goes into starvation mode, it starts storing the calories around your midsection thinking that it may never get fed again, so it makes those love handles bigger. A much better plan to have is to eat smaller and more, like having four to six smaller meals instead of the traditional three larger instalments.
Reducing your calorie intake lower than your daily calorie needs will shrink your fat cells. When your fat cells shrink in size, they are no longer a big concern to your body and so your body will use the fat jog more easily instead of storing it. The eating habit has to be one that is consistent and healthy.
Usually people eat when they are bored, stressed out, angry, anxious, or simply out of habit. Unless you get some kind of therapy to work on new thought processes about these issues, your body will continue to store fat and create more love handles.
Eating a well-balanced diet and avoiding the pitfalls of overeating along with getting some kind of exercise such as strength training, aerobics and pilates, will shrink the waistline and provide added benefits such as improved circulation, more strength, and flexibility.
Whenever you start to observe a drop in your weight or a flabby body here and there, chances are you are eliminating the biggest problem of them all - too much fat.
Love handles won't diminish if you do these correct things. You will never see them diminish if you don't modify your diet, your exercise, your lifestyle, and your attitude.
These lifestyle changes take a totally different turns than just old-fashioned dieting and cardio. You'll need to firm and tone the muscles of the midsection and the rest of your body.
You need to focus on a different set of exercises that will target the love handles. The exercises or movements that you choose to target the midsection should be movements that include the transverse abdominis muscles, the transversus abdominis muscles, the internal obliques, and the external obliques. Let's just call them love handle exercises.
