A Celebration of Children and Education 

Children's Day in India is a festival which celebrates the love and support of children towards

their parents and other family members. Children's day is celebrated all over India in celebration

of the equal rights, education and care of children.

It is celebrated every year on 14th November as a symbol of India's first prime minister,

Jawaharlal Nehru, to children. Fondly called Chacha Nehru amongst children, he was an

advocate for children to have well-educated education. His father, Rabindranath Bedi, a lawyer,

was an advisor to the Indian president.

Bedi Nehru was born on this day in the year 1875 and passed away at the age of 65. The

festival celebrates his love and support to his daughter. It was his love that inspired him to take

up this mission of educating children. The celebration of children's day has been celebrated ever

since. Even in his last days, Jawaharlal encouraged parents to take responsibility for educating

their children.

Children's Day in India has been celebrated with much enthusiasm and joy in India. Parents are

highly encouraged to send their children to the government-run schools for free. During the

festival, families are made to celebrate and give importance to the children's education. A large

number of cultural performances also take place during the festival.

cities celebrate the festival on an international scale and it is a great celebration for children all

over the world. This festival is also celebrated in other countries like Singapore, Bhutan and

Nepal as well.
